Kristen, Your article review had lots of information over technology and early childhood. It gave many great ideas how to incorporate it into education. I agree that technology is an educational tool, it can help us enhance learning. The comment about technology being all around students and this is all they know is so true. They are growing up knowing technology and it's tools. It is important that they have experience with technology - software, computers, internet, etc. as they continue in each grade level. Technology is so powerful and a great tool for education. Great job on your project! (p.s. I know you have moved around to many places but my husband is from Scribner also :) small world!) Jenny
I found most of the information about early childhood classrooms also very controversial. I think in many early childhood classrooms that it is very hard to monitor the students. There needs to be someone sitting with the students at all times when they are on the computers during center times. With so many studnets and so little help it is very hard and almost impossible to monitor the computer use all the time with everything else that is going on in the classroom. Programs that present the information for students who are learning on different levels are fantastic. I have students of all different ages and levels. I think that it is great that the programs present information on different levels so everyone can continue learing. I think that the puzzle games would be great in my classroom. I think that if it can be used appropriately and that is easier said than done some technology can be used in an early childhood program.
I do not work with early childhood students but found your article summary to be both clear and highly informative. I think you guide your viewer through the main points of the article in a controlled and thorough manner. Even working with high school students, I find it very difficult to monitor thirty students when in the computer lab and find that I often need to walk them through even basic processes such as putting an MLA header on a document. Great job!
